WindowBlinds had an easy setup, and at roughly 1.4MB is a fast download. We did notice that it added a short wait (10 seconds or so) to our boot-up time. Double-click on the tool tray icon, and you manage WindowBlinds through a series of checkbox options. If you don't want a certain application tweaked, add it to the exclusions list, and it's left au natural. Registering costs $19.95, and brings more interface tweaks, such as progress bars, scroll bars, and tables.
If you're a serious Supergeek, and skinning Windows doesn't quite do it for you, we suggest you take a gander at LiteStep . It substitutes Windows 95, 98, and NT's normal shell for a X-Windows/Unix-style shell based on the "AfterSTEP look & feel." It offers multiple desktops, tons of themes, and, according to the folks at LiteStep, it eats less memory and CPU than Microsoft's shell.
